On Friday afternoon, US Secretary of State John Kerry came out from a Massachusetts hospital on crutches after treatment for a broken leg.

He said that he was committed to travel for a key deadline in talks with Iran over its nuclear program.

He emphasized the importance of the deadline, which is June 30. Kerry said he has planned to fly to Europe for the final diplomatic push in order to curb Iran's nuclear program in exchange for relief from economic sanctions.

Kerry was hospitalized after breaking his right femur in a bicycle accident while in Switzerland last month, after meeting his counterpart, Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif.

Washington : Secretary of State John Kerry said on Tuesday that Russia has repeatedly lied to him about its activities in Ukraine where pro-Russian rebels are fighting national forces.

"Russia is engaged in a rather remarkable period of the most overt and extensive propaganda exercise that I've seen since the very height of the Cold War," Kerry told a US Senate Appropriations subcommittee.

"And they have been persisting in their misrepresentations lies whatever you want to call them about their activities there to my face, to the face of others on many different occasions."

Russian President Vladimir Putin denies arming rebels in the war in eastern Ukraine, which has killed more than 5,600 people and forced over a million to flee their homes.

Kerry, Zarif hold nuclear talks as deadline looms

Geneva : US Secretary of State John Kerry and his Iranian counterpart today took a walk by Lake Geneva and then began intense talks here on Tehran's nuclear programme to remove the "significant gaps" that remain ahead of a key deadline.

The bilateral talks between Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif Zarif and Kerry have begun while the P5+1 ?- China, Russia, the UK, the US, France and Germany -- were to meet as a group later.

Ali Akbar Salehi, the director of the Iranian Atomic Energy Organisation and Iranian President Hassan Rouhani's brother and close aide Hossein Fereydoon along with US Energy Secretary Ernest Moniz made their maiden appearance in the talks signalling that the deal is entering a sensitive stage.

London, Feb 22 - Secretary of State John Kerry has reportedly warned that the United States is mulling "serious sanctions" against Russia after the recently-forged ceasefire deal failed to hold in east Ukraine.

While accusing Russia of engaging in "an absolutely brazen and cynical process" over the last few days by supporting the rebels and undermining the ceasefire agreement, Kerry, who was a visit to London, warned that the U. S. was not going to "sit there and be part of this kind of extraordinarily craven behaviour at the expense of the sovereignty and integrity of a nation," reported the BBC.

He said that if this failure continued then there will be "further consequences" including, "consequences that would place additional strains on Russia's already troubled economy."

However, the US Secretary of State has ruled out Iran joining the international coalition, the BBC reported.

There is still "some work" to be done related to documents, Aimal Faizi told reporters here, adding that he hoped it would be concluded soon, Pajhwok Afghan News reported.

The spokesperson said the talks between President Karzai and John Kerry were rescheduled for a third round in the evening as the previous two rounds produced no satisfactory results.

John Kerry makes surprise visit to Afghanistan

John-KerryKabul, Oct 11 : US Secretary of State John Kerry made an unannounced visit to Afghanistan's capital Kabul Friday, Xinhua reported citing private television channel Tolo.

During his stay to Kabul, the US top diplomat, according to Tolo, would hold talks with Afghan President Hamid Karzai to discuss the situation in Afghanistan with particular reference to possible inking of a security pact between the two countries.

The controversial security pact, if inked, would enable US to a keep limited number of its forces in Afghanistan after 2014 when the NATO-led troops wouls leave the militancy-ridden country.
