At last, it's not the glamorous Hema Malini but a portly 75-year-old local politician, Lalji Tandon, who will step into former PM AB Vajpayee's shoes for the Lok Sabha election in this city of nawabs.

"It's a huge honour for me," Tandon told DNA from Delhi shortly after the BJP formally announced his name for Lucknow on Friday. Sources said while party president Rajnath Singh was not too keen on him, Atal's personal choice weighed heavily in Tandon's favour. Atal has been a Lucknow MP five times since 1991.

Ranchi, Apr. 1 : Actor-turned politician Hema Malini has expressed disappointment over the Supreme Court decision, which denied Sanjay Dutt the permission to contest in Lok Sabha elections.
The seventh Pune International Film Festival (PIFF) will start from 8 January. Around 150 films from 42 countries will be screened during the festival. Minister of State for External Affairs and Information and Broadcasting Anand Sharma will inaugurate the eight-day festival. During inauguration, Veteran actors Shashi Kapoor, Hema Malini and Sulochana will be given with the Lifetime Achievement Awards. 
Out of action for almost two years, now Dream Girl Hema Malini is all set to rock the box-office with her forthcoming film ‘Ek Thi Rani Aisi Bhi.’
