London, Apr 15 : A posthumous star for the late Beatle George Harrison was unveiled yesterday on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

The event was attended by hundreds of fans and friends including Paul McCartney.

Harrison''s star was unveiled in front of the Capitol Records building as McCartney, one of only two surviving Beatles, looked on.

Also present were Harrison''s widow, Olivia, Harrison''s son, Dhani, musicians Tom Petty and Jeff Lynne and actor Tom Hanks, reports The Telegraph.

London, Apr 9 : George Harrison's elder sister Louise has for the first time shared some of the rare family pictures with `The Beatles', and revealed the role she played in the Fab Four's big American break.

The 78-year-old lady provided a peek into never-before-seen photographs in an intimate family album.

Louise had moved to the States with her mining engineer husband Gordon in 1963, just as Beatlemania was gripping Britain.

She has now talked about the efforts she made to get The Beatles into the US.

The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce has announced that the star’s unveiling will take place on April 14 in front of Hollywood''s Capitol Records building.

Harrison, who died of cancer in 2001, already shares a Walk of Fame star with all four of the Beatles.

The former lead guitarist for the legendary band will get his posthumous star on April 14, with wife Olivia and son Dhani accepting the honour in his name.
