London, Feb 15 : British director Danny Boyle may have won praises and Oscar nominations for `Slumdog Millionaire' but his 88-year-old father slept through the movie.

And now Patrick Boyle has said that wants to see it again because he `missed a couple of parts'.

However, Patrick, who watched the film at his local cinema, said that it was `great', but not his favourite.

"It's great - but definitely not my favourite," the Sun quoted Patrick, as saying.

London, Feb 10: English director Danny Boyle's father Patrick was so overjoyed to see his son picking awards at the BAFTA, that he cried with joy.

For the proud father, Danny making a special mention of him while picking up seven awards for his movie Slumdog Millionaire left him feeling ecstatic.

"The wiring in my dad''s house blew overnight and it''s a big shout out to everyone who helped him get the extension cable in so he could watch this," the Mirror quoted Danny as telling the celebrity audience.

Patrick, 88, from Radcliffe, Gtr Manchester, revealed the power actually blew over a week ago.

London, Feb 6: `Slumdog Millionaire' director Danny Boyle has dismissed claims suggesting that child actors in his critically acclaimed film were not paid fairly, insisting that the facts have been misreported.

Speaking at the London Film Critics'' Circle Awards, where the film won three awards, Boyle said that the wages reported are not true.

"The figures that were released were not true at all," the Telegraph quoted him as saying.

Washington, February 5 : Danny Boyle could not be more grateful that he dumped his early priesthood ambitions to turn to showbiz.

The 52-year-old revealed that as a boy he harboured dreams of becoming a priest to impress his mum, but was talked out of it with no regrets.

"It''s not a joke - actually there (are) loads of directors who as a side-off kind of flirted with the priesthood. Martin Scorsese, John Wood. My mom''s a very devout Catholic from Ireland and she wanted me, her eldest son, to be a priest," Contactmusic quoted him as saying.

"There was this priest who said to me, ''I don''t think you should do it. I think you should wait until girls and music and all those things come into your life.''

London, February 2: After the quadruple success at the Golden Globes and 10 Oscar nominations, Danny Boyle might as well add `winner' as his middle name, for the filmmaker has repeated his victory, this time at the Directors Guild of America Awards for his hit film `Slumdog Millionaire'.

The 52-year-old crushed competitors Ron Howard (Frost/Nixon), David Fincher (The Curious Case of Benjamin Button), Gus Van Sant (Milk) and Christopher Nolan (The Dark Knight) to bag The Best Director title.

Washington, Jan 23 : Slumdog Millionaire's director Danny Boyle jumped out of his seat after learning that his film secured 10 Academy Award nominations.

The acclaimed flick featuring Dev Patel in the lead is based on tale of a former street child who wins the Indian version of Who Wants to Be a Millionaire.

The flick has nominated for best motion picture category, and Boyle has been nominated in the best director category.
