Danny Boyle’s father fell asleep while watching ‘Slumdog Millionaire’London, Feb 15 : British director Danny Boyle may have won praises and Oscar nominations for `Slumdog Millionaire' but his 88-year-old father slept through the movie.

And now Patrick Boyle has said that wants to see it again because he `missed a couple of parts'.

However, Patrick, who watched the film at his local cinema, said that it was `great', but not his favourite.

"It's great - but definitely not my favourite," the Sun quoted Patrick, as saying.

"The wiring in my dad''s house blew overnight and it''s a big shout out to everyone who helped him get the extension cable in so he could watch this," the Mirror quoted Danny as telling the celebrity audience.

Patrick, 88, from Radcliffe, Gtr Manchester, revealed the power actually blew over a week ago.

Speaking at the London Film Critics'' Circle Awards, where the film won three awards, Boyle said that the wages reported are not true.

"The figures that were released were not true at all," the Telegraph quoted him as saying.

Washington, February 5 : Danny Boyle could not be more grateful that he dumped his early priesthood ambitions to turn to showbiz.

The 52-year-old revealed that as a boy he harboured dreams of becoming a priest to impress his mum, but was talked out of it with no regrets.

"It''s not a joke - actually there (are) loads of directors who as a side-off kind of flirted with the priesthood. Martin Scorsese, John Wood. My mom''s a very devout Catholic from Ireland and she wanted me, her eldest son, to be a priest," Contactmusic quoted him as saying.

"There was this priest who said to me, ''I don''t think you should do it. I think you should wait until girls and music and all those things come into your life.''
