Steyn keen to bury demons of his last Oz trip

Melbourne, Dec. 7 : South African pacer Dale Steyn, who will arrive in Australia today for a Test and one-day series, has that he is very keen to bury the demons of his last trip Down Under.

The centre piece of the Proteas attack, Steyn has repeatedly said that he has not forgotten the humiliation of being ripped apart by Australian and Sri Lankan batsmen in two one day internationals in 2005-06.

Steyn conceded 90 runs from eight overs during his frightful initiation to international cricket as a 22-year-old.

Now ranked the No. 1 quick in world cricket, he is seeking redemption and plans to get it by exposing the Australians to the fastest bowling spells of his career.

`Frazzled'' Steyn plotting Oz down fall on tissues and coasters!

South African fast bowler Dale Steyn likes to use tissues, coasters and utility bills to scribble down the technical flaws of opposing batsmen, working out bowling strategies, field settings and other annotations.

If you happen to be invited to his home, you may find him scurrying from floor to floor with the frazzled demeanour of a mad scientist, collating random scraps of paper and stuffing them into a suitcase,” The Age reports.

It is these notes, after all, that represent Steyn''s two-year analysis of the Australian batting line-up, charting everything from trigger movements to temperament.

But with no filing system to speak of, Steyn is having trouble locating them in the days before the Proteas'' departure for Perth.

Hype around Steyn suggests that Aussies may face another “White Lightening”

Melbourne, Dec. 5 : The hype surrounding South African fast bowler Dale Steyn ahead of his team’s tour of Australia, suggests that Australian cricketers need to very prepared to tackle Allan "White Lightning" Donald’s natural heir.

Steyn has commendably taken over the South African pace bowling throne once occupied by the likes of Donald, Garth Le Roux, Mike Procter, Peter Pollock and Neil Adcock, reports The Age.

Like Donald after the Proteas'' re-admission to the international arena in 1991, Steyn has wasted no time in putting the fear of pace into the world''s batsmen.

Steyn tipped to give Hayden a torrid time in Tests

Melbourne, Nov. 25 : South Africa’s snarling pacer Dale Steyn is expected to give Australian opener Matthew Hayden a torrid time in next month''s marquee Test series.

Pace ace Dale Steyn, 25, has already passed Allan Donald as the quickest South African to 100 Test wickets with an intoxicating blend of pure pace, aggression and swing.

In 26 Tests, he has 135 wickets at a superstar average of 22.08, having claimed nine, five-wicket hauls and twice finished with 10 wickets for a match.

Australia has never had to confront Steyn and his battle with an out-of-form Hayden who has always tried to impose himself on the new-ball bowlers, regardless of reputation.
