Ancelotti has promised Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich that he is willing to join the club this summer, The Sun reported.

Ancelotti was the Blues owner's first choice to replace Phil Scolari, but was unwilling to leave Milan mid-season.

However, sources at the Italian club have indicated that an agreement has been reached with Chelsea, which will see Ancelotti named as the new coach.

"I haven't yet found a good reason to leave," Ancelotti Tuesday told La Gazzetta dello Sport, "but the club must also agree."

The 49-year-old played his last five years with the Devils and took over as coach in 2001, steering them to win one Serie A scudetto, two Champions League titles and one Club World Cup.
