Parineeti Chopra, Arshad Warsi promote upcoming films at Mulund Festival

'Scariest' New Year for Arshad

Arshad-WarsiMumbai, Dec 27 : Actor Arshad Warsi is scared about the New Year! Two of his awaited films “Dedh Ishqiya” and “Mr Joe B. Carvalho” will hit the screens in January, and he is nervous about how they will be received.

“'Mr Joe. B Carvalho' and 'Dedh Ishqiya' both are releasing January 2014. This is the most scariest New Year till now,” Arshad posted on Twitter Friday.

Directed by Samir Tiwari, "Mr Joe B. Carvalho", a comedy, will see Arshad in the role of a detective. It will release Jan 3.

Arshad expecting to have fun on ‘Comedy Nights With Kapil’ set

Arshad-WarsiMumbai, Dec 21 : Actor Arshad Warsi is a busy bee this weekend. After wrapping up few interviews, he will head to Kapil Sharma’s TV show “Comedy Nights with Kapil” and hopes to enjoy there.

“Some more interviews during the day and the evening will be spent on ‘Comedy Nights With Kapil’. That should be fun,” Arshad tweeted Saturday.

Naseeruddin-Shah-Arshad-WarsiMumbai, Dec 12 : Actor Arshad Warsi is very fond of veteran actor Naseeruddin Shah, with whom he has worked in "Dedh Ishqiya". He says one reason they gel well is both of them hate retakes.

"I'm very fond of Naseer saab. Why Naseer saab and me get along well with each other or why we are fond of each other is purely because I hate retakes. After my third take, I get fed up and start losing my patience, it becomes monotonous and I think so is the case with Naseer sir," Arshad told IANS.

'Dedh Ishqiya' team set to put best foot forward

Dedh-Ishqiya-MovieMumbai, Nov 4 : Madhuri Dixit starrer “Dedh Ishqiya” is not a run-of-the-mill story and its makers have put in place a unique and smart marketing strategy to promote and build up a pre-release buzz around the movie.

The film is scheduled to release Jan 31 next year and Mansi Maroo, who has co-produced the black comedy with Vishal Bhardwaj, says the focus will be on the Hindi speaking belt during its promotion.

Umesh Shukla to direct comic thriller with Arshad Warsi

arshad-warshiMumbai, July 15 : Filmmaker Umesh Shukla will team up with noted Marathi writer-director-actor Girish Joshi to direct a comic thriller featuring Arshad Warsi in the lead.

It has been penned by Bhavesh Mandalia, who made people sit up and take notice of his writing skills in hit movie "OMG: Oh My God!", which was directed by Shukla.

"I'm very excited about the project. While I share a great comfort level with Bhavesh Mandalia, I look forward to working with Arshad Warsi, who in my opinion is extremely talented," Shukla said in an statement.

Arshad Warsi returns as choreographer

Arshad-WarsiMumbai, July 11 :  Before he became an actor, Arshad Warsi was a choreographer -- and he returns to choreographing after 20 years with his forthcoming film "Calling Mr. Joe B Carvalho" in which he directs a song.

Arshad says dance is his passion.

"I am enjoying it and it feels good. Dancing is my passion and I enjoy dancing. It has been ages since I did my kind of dance. So I am enjoying it now. I have done the choreography, movements, and body language," the 45-year-old said here Wednesday on location of the song.

Arshad is also bowled over Madhuri's professionalism and her "happy-go-lucky" nature.

"I think Dr. Nene is the happiest man on earth because Madhuri is absolutely divine," Arshad said here at the DVD launch of his last release "Jolly LLB".

"Bought cycles and trikkes for Zeke, Zene and myself. Going to try and cycle as much as I can," Arshad tweeted along with a picture of his chic cycle.

A trikke is a three-wheeled scooter-like vehicle.

"I feel right now there is no other better actor than Ranbir Kapoor. He is brilliant and I think he will play Lord Ram's role better," the 45-year-old said here Thursday at the screening of 3D animation film "The Croods".

Among actresses, he feels "somewhere down the line, Katrina fits and Deepika (Padukone) is too exciting".

"When people accept such films, it opens doors for good cinema. There are a lot of good filmmakers who cannot make their films because they are into this kind of cinema," the 44-year-old said here Friday on the sets of TV show "Safar Filmy Comedy Ka", where he was present to promote "Jolly LLB".

"A lot of people like Arshad as an actor, be it 'Munnabhai' (franchise), 'Ishqiya', 'Seher', 'Golmaal' (franchise) or even 'Dhamaal' because his comic timing is brilliant," Subhash said here Thursday in an interview.

"I am extremely disappointed that my film has got an 'A' Certificate. If you see the film, you will know there is nothing wrong in the film. It is so disturbing the film has got an 'A' Certificate with cuts," Kumar told IANS.

"When you work with any actor, your comfort level is more when that particular actor is secure, and Sanju (Sanjay Dutt) is very secure... He does not worry at all," Arshad, 44, said here Friday at the movie's music launch.

I might start choreographing for films: Arshad WarsiChoreographer-turned-actor Arshad Warsi is looking at reviving his dancing talent again and wants to choreograph some of the songs in his films.

"The choreographer in me has taken a back seat but I am thinking of getting that back. I'm going to start choreographing songs in films very soon to satisfy the dancer in me," Arshad told IANS.

Arshad, whose "Double Dhamaal" released Friday, will start shooting for films like "Jolly LLB" and the sequel to "Ishqiya" very soon.
