Dabur ropes in Bollywood actor Anil Kapoor as brand ambassador

Anil KapoorNew Delhi: FMCG firm Dabur Wednesday roped in Bollywood actor Anil Kapoor as brand ambassador for its new health supplement product 'Ratnaprash'.

"The company today announced the signing of Bollywood Actor Anil Kapoor as the new brand ambassador for its latest offering Dabur Ratnaprash," Dabur said in a statement.

Commenting in the new product, Dabur India Ltd Category Head-Health Supplements Ajay Parihar said: "This marks a first for Dabur and for the healthcare industry in India. Consumers have always sworn by the health benefits of Dabur Chyawanprash and we are now offering the same immunity and health benefits of Dabur Chyawanprash while enriching it with precious ingredients."

US now aware of Indian cinema, its reach: Anil Kapoor

Anil-KapoorTampa Bay (Florida), Feb 15 : The fact that the US has opened its doors to host the International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) Weekend and Awards is testimony to the growing awareness about Indian cinema in that side of the world, says veteran actor Anil Kapoor, who has wide experience of both Bollywood and Hollywood.

The 15th edition of IIFA, a four-day event which celebrates the grandeur and glitz of Hindi cinema, will be held in Tampa Bay in Florida this April. Preparations are on in full swing to make the stars feel at home and to bring fans closer to their big screen idols.

DVD version of Anil Kapoor's '24' likely

Anil-KapoorNew Delhi, Dec 25  : If all goes as planned, Anil Kapoor-starrer gripping and thrilling TV drama "24", which recently came to an end, will be released in a DVD version packed with all of its 24 episodes.

A well-placed source told IANS: "We are exploring the idea (of coming up with a DVD version of the show.  It's still work in progress stage, but not confirmed."

An espionage thriller, "24" was the Indian adaptation of the eponymous American TV series, which starred Keifer Sutherland as Counter Terrorist Unit agent Jack Bauer.

I am forever 24: Anil Kapoor on 57th b'day

Anil-KapoorMumbai, Dec 23 : For actor Anil Kapoor, who will turn 57 Tuesday, 2013 has been a fabulous year. And the 'ever-grin' Bollywood actor-star's smile just got bigger and brighter during the year, mainly because of his successful TV show "24".

"The number 24 has proved lucky for me. My serial '24', which just concluded, has been received with incredible enthusiasm. Now on my birthday on Dec 24 I feel I am 24 years old," said Anil on the eve of his birthday from Dubai.

"There is so much to do. And I want to do it all. I feel like a child in a toy store. I want everything, and I want it now,"

Disney India to co-produce 'Khubsoorat' with Kapoors

Anil-Sonam-Rhea-KapoorNew Delhi, Dec 9 : Anil Kapoor and his daughter Rhea have joined hands with Walt Disney Studios to co-produce "Khoobsurat", a remake of the 1980 Rekha starrer "Khubsoorat".

Sonam Kapoor will be seen playing the happy-go-lucky girl, essayed by Rekha with elan in the earlier Hrishikesh Mukherjee directed family entertainer.

Her character Mili is vivacious and is responsible for turning the lives of a royal family upside down. It also stars Kirron Kher, Ratna Pathak Shah and Amir Raza Hussain.

Bharat Ratna to Sachin a great send off: Anil Kapoor

Anil-KapoorMumbai, Nov 18 : Actor Anil Kapoor has lauded the government's decision to confer master blaster Sachin Tendulkar with Bharat Ratna, the country's highest civilian honour, and says it is a great send-off.

"I was very happy when I came to know that Sachin (Tendulkar) has been honoured with Bharat Ratna. I think he is the well-deserved Indian for the award," Anil told reporters at the first look launch of 3D mythological film "Mahabharat".

"The best thing is that youngsters who never used to watch TV are hooked to it. They have something to watch now... even men have something to watch on TV besides the family soaps. I have heard that women and kids are also liking it," Anil told reporters here Wednesday.

Tisca-ChopraMumbai, Aug 23 : Tisca Chopra reveals that Anil Kapoor pushed her to lose weight for his debut TV production "24" as he believed that good looks complement good work.

"He has always encouraged me. He came and saw me in a play and said, 'you do good work and keep doing it.' Then when I got signed for the show, he told me, 'you will do a great work if you lose weight. Work hard, good looking, good acting, that is the mantra'," the
39-year-old said here Thursday at the promo launch of the show.

"Sharp at 8 a. m. I would get an sms, 'how is the diet going?' and I would stop eating the whole day," she said.

The 56-year-old actor Thursday shared a picture of the show on his official account. The promos of the show are expected to go on air in August.

Sonam, Anil together for a special song in 'Bombay Talkies'

A compilation of four short films celebrating 100 years of Indian cinema, "Bombay Talkies" has contributions by Dibakar Banerjee, Zoya Akhtar, Anurag Kashyap and Karan Johar.

The makers have shot one special song for the film that will feature some of the known Bollywood stars including Sonam and Anil, said a statement.

"You have to be true to the script. When I made 'Gandhi My Father', I was true to the script. I didn't think it is commercial or not. Whether it is a commercial film, a mainstream film or a good script, you just have to be convinced," the
