Washington, Mar 14 : Hollywood actress Penelope Cruz is in talks to star in Italian director Sergio Castellitto's film `Venuto al Mondo' (Into the World).

Castellitto's film "Don''t Move" gave Cruz her first career-making role in 2004.

"We''re starting to talk but I can''t confirm anything concrete as yet," Variety quoted Cruz as saying.

The film about a single mother, to be played by Cruz, is based on the novel written by Castellitto''s wife, Margaret Mazzantini.

Castellitto''s producers, Roberto Cicutto and Luigi Musini, are currently putting together finance on "World." (ANI)
