Peace delegation returns from Pakistan with positive response

Peace delegation returns from Pakistan with positive responseA 13-member peace delegation of Indian dignitaries including Bollywood Director Mahesh Bhatt and noted journalist Kuldeep Nayar, which was on a four-day visit to Pakistan to improve relations, returned from there on Thursday.

The objective of the visit was to promote peace and build trust between the two neighbouring countries.

The delegation met the Pakistan's Information Minister Sherry Rehman and Pakistan Muslim League (N) chief Nawaz Sharif amongst other government officials and discussed the issue of peace and harmony between the two countries.

"Within few minutes of our visit there, all our misconceptions were dispelled as they received us very positively. They are sorry about the Mumbai incident but they want to move on," Nayar said.

Tensions have been running high between India and Pakistan since the Mumbai terror attacks last November, though fear of a conflict between the nuclear-armed neighbours has receded in recent weeks. (ANI)
