Patni Computer Systems launches its first Green-IT BPO knowledge centre at Noida
Patni Computer Systems Limited, one of the leading information technology service provider, has launched its first Green IT-BPO knowledge centre at Noida with an investment of Rs 175 crore.
The centre christened ‘Patni Knowledge Centre’ is spread over 5 acres and has a seating capacity of over 3500. The facility is designed and constructed as per the guidelines of LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) India green building rating system for new construction.
With an aim to minimize adverse environmental impact, Patni’s Green Knowledge Centre has designed to use less energy, water and natural resources as well as creates less waste. Among the highlights of the building are climate responsive architecture, over 50% green area, 75% of the area receiving natural daylight, 95% of the occupants getting access to outside views, 100% recycling of sewage, drip water irrigation and solar water heating, use of interior materials with low volatile organic compound (VOC) emissions, and CO2 sensors for adding fresh air on demand.
However, the centre is presently under certification process and is jointly audited by the Indian Green Building Council (IGBC) and US Green Building Council (USGBC).
Shares of the company gained Rs 6, or 2%, to settle at Rs 225. The total volume of shares traded was 12,634 at the BSE. (Monday)
