Pakistan successfully test-fires its two missiles

Pakistan has successfully tested two of its short range ballistic missiles Saheen-1 and Ghazvani. This has been confirmed by the Pakistan military sources. Both the missiles are capable of carrying nuclear weapons. The Prime Minister of Pakistan Mr. Yousaf Raza Gilani was also present at the event. He has witnessed the test event along with some of the senior military officials.

The missile named ‘Ghazvani’ can target a distance up to 290Km (180 miles) while the ‘Saheen-1’ would able to hit a target from 650Km (400miles) distance. Both can carry conventional and nuclear warheads.

Later the Prime Minister of Pakistan, Mr. Gilani has said that Pakistan had developed a strong nuclear deterrence capability and now the armed forces are quite capable of protecting the country from any kinds of assault.

According to some of the news agencies, Pakistan is keen on such missiles to tackle its main rival India. Even the “Shaheen-1” has the capable distance to fire Indian capital New Delhi. This missile test has been another secret policy of the Pakistan.
