Pak pacer Asif''s doping hearing postponed after Mumbai attacks

Mohammad AsifIslamabad, Nov. 27 : Pakistan fast bowler Mohammad Asif''s hearing into a doping allegation was postponed Thursday after terror attacks in Mumbai killed more than
100 people.

Asif was due to appear before the Indian Premier League''s drug tribunal on Saturday.

“The hearing has been postponed after a very sad incident in Mumbai,'''' The News quoted lawyer Shahid Karim, as saying, and adding that the new date would be announced in due time.

The Pakistan Cricket Board has banned the right-arm paceman from playing international or domestic cricket after he tested positive for the banned substance nandrolone in the IPL in May.

Asif subsequently filed an appeal with an IPL drug tribunal, which comprises former India captain Sunil Gavaskar, Dr. Ravi Bapatand lawyer Shirish Gupte.

Both his “A''” and “B”'' samples tested positive at a World Anti-Doping Agency accredited laboratory, but with a different concentration of nandrolone in each sample. (ANI)
