P&G Posts Rs 13 Crore Profit, Declares Dividend
Mumbai: Procter & Gamble Hygiene & Health Care Ltd declared its net earnings at Rs 12.65 crore for the quarter ended June 30 whilst it made Rs 46.56 crore for the corresponding period last year.
The company’s total income (net of excise) plunged to Rs 129.97 crore for the period under consideration from Rs 155.87 crore for the same period, last year.
In the meantime, the net income for the company for the year ended on June 30 also decreased to Rs 89.82 crore from Rs 139.51 crore last year.
For the year ended June 30, the total income (net of excise) stood at Rs 554.75 crore, while the same was at Rs 631.01 crore for the year ended June 30, 2006.
The yearly results of the company are not firmly comparable as the matching period in the last year comprised sales and expenses of detergent business that was shifted to Procter & Gamble Home Products Ltd in October 2006.
While commenting on the outcomes for the FY 2006-07, Bharat Patel, Chairman of the company said, “Our strong double-digit core categories growth for the full year and last quarter, is a reflection of our superior value propositions, our in-touch advertising, cutting edge marketing programs, and robust trade plans, all geared to delight the Indian consumer.”
The company’s board has also declared a final dividend of Rs 20 per equity share for the year ended June 30, 2007.
