Orla clinches WISPA Challenger title
Dutch Orla Noom has won the women’s singles title of the WISPA Challenger-2 squash tournament after beating India’s Joshna Chinnappa in the final match at the Indian Squash Academy, Chennai on Saturday.
The 23-year old Chennai girl, Joshna failed to win her fourth WISPA title as she went down to her lower ranked opponent in straight sets by 8-11, 4-11, 10-12 in just 35 minutes in the title clash.
In the PSA Challenger-4 tournament, Ivan Yuen of Malaysia upset 42 ranked Mark Kracsak of Hungary 11-9, 11-9, 11-9 in the final of the men’s singles event in 45 minutes.
The 94th ranked, Yuen used delectable drop shots and volleys with strong forehand drives to win the first two sets in the match.
Yuen, the winner of Asian Junior title, came back in the third set after trailing by 7-2 to win the set and match to lift his maiden PSA title.
