OLLO & Sorry Bhai Hit Terribly By The Mumbai Terror Attacks

OLLO & Sorry Bhai Hit Terribly By The Mumbai Terror AttacksDue to the last week terror strikes in Mumbai, audiences seemed to keep away from theatres in the city. As a result, the opening of last week releases of Oye Lucky! Lucky Oye! and Sorry Bhai! was disastrous.

Both OLLO and Sorry Bhai had a dismal start all over and failed terribly to generate the required business in the country’s financial capital.

According to the trade analysts, at most places in the city, Sorry Bhai! was performing at a low 5% - 7%.

However, OLLO was slightly better, with a 10% - 15% start in the city.

Speaking on this, Devang Sampat of Cinemax Multiplexes said, “We normally see 50-60 per cent collections from Friday onwards. But this time it went as low as 7-10 per cent. This has mounted to over Rs 20 lakh in losses for us on a daily basis.”

While Sanjay Suri, Sharman Joshi, Chitrangada Singh, Shabana Azmi and Boman Irani forms the cast of “Sorry Bhai!”, “OLLO” only has Abhay Deol and Paresh Rawal.

Keeping in view the current market trends, the producers of this week's release Khalbali has been postponed for an indefinite period.

Speaking on this, project head of the film, Riaz Haider said, "Our film is an entertainer and we don't think this is the right time to release it. We will surely lose out, if we go ahead with the release on December 5."

However, with two of 2008’s biggest releases SRK starrer Rab Ne Bana di Jodi and Aamir Khan starrer Ghajini scheduled for release on December 12 and 25, respectively, trade analyst feels that the situation would be normalised within a week’s time.
