OCZ Technology has rolled out a new external storage device, named the Throttle eSATA drive.

Supporting eSATA interface, the new storage device works proficiently not only with desktop PCs, but also with laptop computers.

Touted to be an alternative to conventional USB drives, the Throttle eSATA drive offers better data transfer rates of 90MB/second read speeds and 30MB/sec write speeds.

Mr. Eugene Chang, Director of Product Management for the OCZ Technology Group, commented, “We are excited to introduce the Throttle eSATA drive, which delivers many of the key benefits of external SATA including faster transfer rates and a cost effective expansion storage for high performance computing.”

“The Throttle is available in high densities and offers exceptional peak interface speeds for high performance notebooks, desktops, consumer electronics and entry level servers. In the case where an eSATA port is not available, the Throttle has the ability to connect via USB as well for ultimate flexibility,” Mr. Chang added.

The portable plug-and-play eSATA drive does not require additional cords and power cable to offer up outstanding performance and versatility.

The Throttle comes in three different capacities including 8 GB, 16 GB and 32 GB.

Moreover, it also lets users to access data with the help of an auxiliary mini USB port.

However, the price and availability are still undisclosed.
