Obama decides to set up a panel for oil spill

Barack ObamaUS President Barack Obama is going to set up a panel for the Gulf of Mexico oil spill disaster. The US officials have informed that panel will investigate about the government's role in the disaster and the industry practices. This decision came after a top coast guard warned the oil spill is progressing towards the coastline of southern Florida and may reach there in short time.

On the other hand the oil giant BP clarified that they are going to close the well altogether with pumping mud into the damaged well as all other technique are in vain and have produced no result. BP says that they are trying to soak the oil from the well at least 1000 barrels a day and store it in a tanker ship with help of a huge mile long tube. But the amount of leaking oil per day is five times of it i. e. 5000 barrels per day.

The US officials have also said the commission will be very similar to the panel that was made to investigate the nuclear accident at Three Mile Island in 1979 and the space shuttle Challenger disaster in 1986.
