Nurse makes his Little Patient’s Dream come true by marrying her
This male nurse has fulfilled his four-year-old patient's dream to marry him. Abby Sayles, 4, is battling with acute lymphoblastic leukemia and Matt Hickling is taking care of Abby at Albany Medical Center's Melodies Center for Childhood Cancer.
Renee Sayles, Abby's mother said that Hickling has been by the side of Abby for the past year. Both of them have developed good bond. One day, Abby called her mother to reveal what she is thinking. After having a word with Abby, Renee sent a text message to Hickling telling him everything.
"I sent him a text message just to give him a heads up that this was an idea that was in her head, just so he was not in shock", affirmed Renee. As soon as the little girl asked the question of marriage to Hickling, the hospital staff did not waste any time in making preparations.
Hickling's co-worker gave him a tuxedo t-shirt, staff bought a few bouquets and laid down an aisle of rose petals. After the ceremony, everyone enjoyed with cake and ringpops. Abby and Hickling hugged each other and placed ring pops on each other's fingers and sealed the wedding. Renee said that the staff made the process so smooth. When asked from Abby, she said that she is quite happy and cutely said that it is the first time to get married.
