Now, a hi-tech answer to improve your batting technique

Christchurch (New Zealand), Nov.9 : Two Burnside High School students in Christchurch, New Zealand, have reportedly come up with a hi-tech answer to improve their batting technique.

According to stuff.co.nz, Devatanu Deka, 17, and Fabian Law, 18, have designed a cricket bat with sensors that show which part of the bat a player has used to hit the ball.

A coach to improve a batsman’s technique and train him to hit the ball with the middle of the bat can use the sensors.

The invention was on show last night at the Bright Sparks Expo organised by industry training organisation ETITO.

The expo presented the best of the Bright Sparks competition designed to inspire young people to find new uses for technology and increase awareness of hi-tech industries.

Deka and Law won fifth place in the 17-and-over age group.

Deka said the project had taken about a year to complete with some help from teachers at Burnside High School. (ANI)
