None of the IPL partners have left: Lalit ModiVarious rumors about major sponsors deserting IPL have been floating in the air. On Friday, IPL chairman and commissioner, Lalit Modi nullified all the rumors.

He said that all the partners including, Sony Television/ World Sport Group (WSG) are with the IPL. In fact they have already paid whatever money they were committed to. We receive hundreds of payments and not a single partner has defaulted.

He added: “The IPL is a jewel in the crown of Sony Television; it’s a top cricket property for the broadcaster. Personally, I feel sad that Kunal Dasgupta has quit the company as CEO. He liked the concept of IPL and was the architect of developing the property for Sony.”

According to reports, Reliance-ADAG’s Big TV has pulled out of its Rs 137-crore deal with IPL as a ground sponsor, which led to Mr Dasgupta’s resignation. Various controversies including the Big TV-Bharti Airtel sponsorship, Mr Dasgupta’s abrupt resignation, and MSM losing broadcast rights have been surrounding the IPL.
