Nokia offers Xpress Music 5800
Nokia is planning to impress mobile phone users with XpressMusic 5800 phone, which is also dubbed as 'Tube'. As per industry experts, the set would be available in North America by 26th February.
However, the Nokia Xpress Music comes with a higher price tag of $400.
It would be very pleasing to know that Nokia 5800 XpressMusic device is not like any other lay phone as Nokia has positioned it as its first mass-market touchscreen device. But what has ignited the interest of the users is the free year-long music subscription called 'Comes With Music' that came with the phone.
The unique feature of Comes With Music might even help the new device by Nokia to compete with Apple's iTunes in popularity, especially in Europe. It was confirmed by Nokia last month that it sold one million XpressMusic 500 phones.
However, the only hurdle that stands is the hefty price tag as recently the American consumers have been hit adversely by the slowdown.
Till now, no official response has been received from Nokia regarding what price it will provide the XpressMusic 500. It won't be wrong to say though that unless the company can convince one to drop the price of the device through a big subsidy, the Tube is likely to get lost in the shuffle.
