Washington, June 7 : The United States has assessed the on ground situation in Pakistan as "very dire", following the military operation against the Taliban in tribal areas.

US Assistant Secretary of State for Public Affairs P J Crowley admitted that the current offensive has had an impact on the Pakistani population and the number of internally- displaced persons is more than two million.

Crowley said the US would do everything in a bid to help Pakistan rehabilitate its IDPs.

Lahore, June 7 : The mother of a girl who was allegedly gang raped by her classmates has blamed the college for the incident, claiming it is secretly running a prostitution den and porn filmmaking business.

An ACCA student at a local college was said to have been kidnapped, raped and videotaped by seven of her classmates before being thrown outside the college gate.

Her mother lodged a FIR accusing the principal for ignoring her daughter's repeated complaints of being harassed prior to the incident.

San Paulo (Brazil)/Paris, June 7 : The bodies of two men from the Air France plane that crashed in the Atlantic Ocean off Brazil have been found by search teams.

"We confirm the recovery from the water of debris and bodies from the Air France plane," Sky News quoted Brazilian air force spokesman Colonel Jorge Amaral, as saying.

The Airbus jet, with 228 people on board, disappeared early last Monday as it made its way from Rio de Janiero, heading to Paris.

London, June 7 : Britain''s Got Talent star Susan Boyle, who was admitted to London''s Priory clinic following reports that she suffered emotional breakdown because of her defeat in the show's final, has bounced back.

The Scottish singing sensation described her stay at the clinic as `a little holiday', insisting she feels fantastic now.

Lahore, June 7 : President Barack Obama's Special Envoy to Afghanistan and Pakistan, Richard Holbrooke, has said the United States will trace the financial sources of the Taliban.

Holbrooke said the Taliban is getting more money from private donors than from their opium trade, estimated to be about 300 million dollars a year.

"In the past, there was a kind of a feeling that the money all came from drugs in Afghanistan. That is simply not true," the Daily Times quoted Holbrooke, as saying.
