Designing happened by accident: Amrish Kumar

amrish kumarNew Delhi, Oct 16 : Design aesthetics runs in his genes. So when Amrish Kumar had to step into his mother Ritu Kumar's territory, the business graduate never gave it a second thought.

"I am a designer by accident. There was a time when we were finding people for a suitable position, we couldn't find any, so I had to step in," Amrish told IANS in an interview.

"I had no intention to be a designer, but I was always comfortable with fabrics and colours, as I have grown up with it. Also being from a business school does give you an edge to understand the market, strategies and plan accordingly," he added.

BMW recalls 21,771 cars in China; Jaguar 30

bmwBeijing, Oct 16 : German auto giant BMW has recalled more than 21,000 luxury sedans from Chinese customers to fix the faulty brake system, while British carmaker Jaguar Land Rover has announced the recall of its 30 Discovery 3 TDV6 diesel vehicles.

BMW's vehicles which have been recalled include 21,383 imported BMW 5, 6 and 7 Series manufactured between Dec 14, 2001, and Nov 23, 2009, and 388 Rolls-Royce Phantom luxury cars manufactured between Jan 1, 2003, and Nov 30, 2009, Xinhua quoted a statement by the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine (GAQSIQ).

Tata Motors international sales, elevating by19%: September month

Tata-MotorsTata Motors today expressed that its worldwide sales elevated up by 19 % in September, to 86,996 units on vigorous demand for both commercial and passenger vehicles.

Sales of luxury product by Jaguar Land Rover were at 19,528 units throughout September, up 16 % by the same month past year, Tata Motors stated in a report.

Whereas the sales of luxury sedans of Jaguar brand elevated by 10 % past month to 4,861 units, Land Rover sales were increased by 19 per cent at 14,667 units, it further stated in a report.

The Q2 net income of Geojit BNP Paribas cuts down to Rs 7 crore
