JSW Energy's (JSWEL) Q2 FY11 results are significantly lower than our estimate. This was on account of lower short term realizations, lower sales and higher fuel cost. Net generation was lower due to 1) annual maintenance and 2) higher auxiliary consumption. We reduce our FY11 estimates to reflect delays in capacity addition and higher fuel cost. Re-iterate SELL with a reduced target price of Rs112/share.

The magnificent effort by Mani Ratnam culminated in his trilingual film named ‘Raavanan’ in Tamil. The film was released amidst fanfare while the closely guarded storyline as well as the other facts that were kept a secret helped in building expectations. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has been worried over a particularly steamy scene in her upcoming film, Guzaarish . She has been trying to influence director Sanjay Leela Bhansali into removing that scene from the movie. The director may just get to oblige her if he feels that the scene in question is not quite relevant to the storyline.

Aishwarya has apparently had a debate with Bhansali over retaining the scene and the director does not wish his film to be dragged into unnecessary controversies.

Mumbai, Nov 2:  The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) Tuesday hiked its short-term borrowing and lending rates by 25 basis points, continuing with its tight monetary policy stance to tame inflation, but hinted that the rates would not undergo any more changes in the immediate future.

The repurchase rate now stands revised to 6.25 percent from the earlier 6 percent, while the reverse repurchase rate has been hiked to 5.25 percent from 5 percent. The cash reserve ratio (CRR) has been kept unchanged.

Mumbai, Nov 2 - Indian equities opened higher Tuesday, ahead of the monetary policy update by the central bank later in the day, but slipped on fears that interest rates may be hiked for the sixth time this year.

The sensitive index (Sensex) of the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) opened the day at 20,407.18 points, against the previous day's close at 20,355.63 points, and moved higher to 20,414.47 points, immediately after.

Mumbai, Nov 2 - Govinda's daughter Narmada Ahuja, whose debut film has been delayed, says the script has been finalised and the project will hit the production stage early next year.

"The status of that project is we have finalised the script. Everything is done and we are now working on it. Most probably the first schedule of the film will go on the floor in January or maximum February," Narmada, 20, told IANS.

The daughter of Bollywood's popular funny man Govinda, Narmada too will start her acting journey with a romantic comedy.
