Chouhan begins second innings in Madhya Pradesh
Bhopal, Dec 12 : BJP leader Shivraj Singh Chouhan was sworn-in as the Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh for a second term here on Friday.
He was elected the leader of the BJP''s Legislature Party in the state on December 10.
Chouhan was the BJP''''s chief ministerial candidate and his election as the legislature party leader was a mere formality.
Party leaders termed five factors -- local situation, local issues, selection of a local as the candidate, local state leadership and the state government''''s performance as playing a crucial role in the party''''s success.
The ceremony was attended by senior BJP leaders, including Rajnath Singh and L. K. Advani. Uttaranchal Chief Minister Bhuwan Chandra Khanduri and Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal were also present on the occasion.
Shivraj Singh Chouhan born March 5, 1959. He replaced Babulal Gaur as the chief minister on November 29, 2005.
He is a five-time BJP Member of the Lok Sabha from the Vidisha constituency of Madhya Pradesh.
Besides this, he has also served as the General Secretary of the BJP and as President of the Madhya Pradesh unit of the BJP.
Chouhan was a gold medallist in M. A. (Philosophy) from the Barkatullah University, Bhopal. He is married to Sadhana Singh and has two sons.
At present, he represents Budhni in Madhya Pradesh''s Sehore District in the state assembly.(ANI)
