Nawaz says Musharraf has made a mockery of Pakistan

Sukkur, Dec 25: Former Premier Nawaz SharifFormer Premier Nawaz Sharif has said that President Pervez Musharraf has made a mockery of Pakistan by sacking the judiciary.

Addressing a public gathering of about 3,000 people here, he said, “Musharraf has made us a mockery by sacking the judiciary. We are a laughing stock all over the world, even in India. We have to liberate our country of dictators”.

He also made a demand for the restoration of the judges, some of whom remain under house arrest.

“These judges are our heroes. It is our commitment that we will restore these judges at any cost,” he added.

However, he did not appear hopeful of winning seats in Sindh.

Sharif said that we have never won a National Assembly seat from Sukkur but he still love the people of Sukkur and Sindh as they are always supported the democratic forces.

Sharif said, “The country is soaked in blood and fire from Khyber to Karachi”. Any wrong decision could usher in a dangerous crisis that could further split the country.

He said his struggle was not aimed at achieving personal motives, but was intended to restore the constitution, democracy and the deposed judiciary.

He alleged that pre-poll rigging had already started in various parts of the country to allow a PML-Q victory.

He added that manipulated results would not be acceptable to the people of Pakistan, a foreign news agency quoted. (ANI)
