New Delhi, Dec 24: The Union Cabinet today gave its approval for the amendment to Clause (F) of Section 20 of the Indian Trusts Act, 1882.

Sub-section (F) of Section 20 would be substituted with the “(F) any other security or class of securities expressly authorized by the instrument of trust or by the Central Government by notification in the official gazette”.

The amendment will be moved in Parliament in the ensuing session.

This would enable the government to notify a class of securities as eligible for investment by trusts. (ANI)
