Tata Consultancy Inaugurates Fourth Delivery centre in China
Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), largest IT services provider in India, has further expanded its operations in China by inaugurating its fourth global delivery centre at Tianjin, which will have capacity of 300 seats. The other centres in China are at Bejing, Shanghai and Hangzhou. With this, the company will have a staff strength of over 1,300 in the region.
The Tianjin center will support local business opportunities as well as Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) opportunities for the Japanese, US and European market. This is in line with Tianjin's ambition to become a world class hub for global BPO operations.
The Tianjin facility will also serve as an extended Center of Excellence for Microsoft, Oracle and SAP to meet technology needs of the customers. TCS has established Oracle and SAP center of excellence in Hangzhou and Shanghai.
Girija Pande, Executive Vice President and Head, Asia Pacific Operations, TCS said, "The Tianjin and Shenzhen facilities are strategic investments to strengthen our information technology infrastructure to leverage the local talent pool. These facilities will help us service the vibrant local market and support our international operations in Japan, US and Europe. This also reiterates our long-term commitment to developing China as a strategic location in our off shoring and out sourcing value proposition."
TCS had set up its first operation in China in July 2002 and had become the first Indian company to do so. At present, TCS provides support and solutions to top 30 companies from the financial, telecommunications, manufacturing and government sectors in China.
