No buyers for Becks’ old car

Football star David BeckhamLondon, Nov 17 : A car that David Beckham owned during his initial football days is up for grabs, but the only problem is that here are no buyers for it.

The former England captain owned the 1994 Volkswagen Golf 1.4 shortly before he made his Manchester United debut.

And now, the current owner of the car, Gez Keogh, 38, has put up a price tag of 1,995 pounds on the vehicle, thinking he would easily get more owing to its previous owner.

Although Beckham’s name is in the logbook, people still don’t believe that it once belonged to ‘Goldenboots’ himself.

“I cannot shift it. Because David once owned it I bumped up the price a bit,” the Sun quoted Gez, of Waterlooville, Hants, as saying.

He added: “But people claim it could never have been owned by him because he is a multi-millionaire. But they forget he was once a teenager with a trainee’s wage.

“The DVLA have confirmed it was his. I thought it would fly out of the door.” (ANI)
