Car-bomb attack kills nine in Baghdad

Suicide bomber blows herself up in hospital, kills three Baghdad - The death toll from a car-bomb in a square in central Baghdad rose to nine on Wednesday, al-Arabiya TV reported.

The explosion, which took place in Nasr Square, also injured 12 passers-by.

In north-eastern Baghdad, nine civilians were injured, including two women, when a bomb struck their minibus in Shab district, a police source told the Voices of Iraq (VOI) news agency.

Elsewhere, one civilian was shot dead and four injured in the northern Iraqi city of Kirkuk by a man wearing an Iraqi Army uniform, police sources in the city said.

The sources told VOI that an investigation had been begun to find the perpetrators of the attack. (dpa)
