Massa: "We did things perfectly, unfortunately it wasn't enough"Sao Paulo - Brazilian Felipe Massa made a long and emotional comment after losing at the season's very last minute Sunday in Sao Paulo the Formula 1 World Championship at the hands of Lewis Hamilton.

"We did everything perfectly. A whole lot of emotions get mixed up, but we have to be very proud of what we did," the Ferrari driver told reporters.

Massa won the Brazilian Grand Prix, but Hamilton's fifth place in Sao Paulo was enough to make the Brit the youngest-ever Formula 1 world champion.

"As Kimi said, today we did things perfectly, unfortunately it wasn't enough," the Brazilian said, looking at team-mate Kimi Raikkonen.

"We have had a great championship, with highs and lows. Races are like that. Even if we have highs and lows we have done huge work, everyone worked tremendously hard to achieve the objectives.

"Sometimes things do not happen as we want them to, but we have to be happy," Massa insisted.

Visibly moved, but holding back the tears he had shed on the podium, Massa congratulated Hamilton on his success.

"Congratulations to Lewis. He has had a great championship, he got one more point. But I know how to win and how to lose.

"I have learnt a lot, this is part of our life. Everyone here knows how hard it is to be a driver. I learnt a lot today, I am proud because we did all we could." dpa
