Big TV DTH Bags 5,00,000 Subscribers In First Two Months
As always Reliance has made its mark. A record breaking 5,00,000 subscribers were roped in by Big TV DTH, a part of Reliance Communication in the first two months of its launch.
Mr. Arun. K. Kapoor, president Big TV, stated, "Crossing the five lakh customer milestones within two months is indeed a testimony to the superior value proposition offered by Big TV and its success in accelerating the growth momentum of DTH sector in India..........Our plans of defining the future of TV viewing in India are on desired course and we are fully-geared to add over 4,00,000 subscribers every month with an on-ground infrastructure spanning 6500 Indian Towns".
The Big TV with this remarkable achievement has bagged almost 40 % of the industry' Gross additions during the last two months.
With the world’s best and latest MPEG4 technology the service promises to double its channels from 200 to 400 in the same transponder capacity which is quite high in comparison to existing DTH services.
In its festive offer, the company is giving a three-month free subscription offer on its Rs 1490 entry price .This offer makes Big TV 33 percent more affordable than any other comparative offer in the market.
To further enhance its growth the company has already booked four transponders of the MEASAT satellite, which would take its total transponder capacity to 12. The president, also spoke about the launch of DVR (digital video recorder) by December end and also plans to launch interactive cricket and interactive news.
All this may be good news for consumers but for other DTH players it may not be a very festive Diwali.
