Germany, Jordan discuss Mideast peace process
Amman - Germany's Minister for European Affairs Gunter Gloser met with Jordanian Foreign Minister Salah Bashir on Thursday and discussed the latest developments in the Middle East.
"Bashir underscored the importance of the role being played by Germany and other European Union countries in support of the Middle East peace process, and endeavours aimed at the establishment of ... durable peace in the region," a foreign ministry statement said.
The next three months would be "a critical" period in the peace process, Bashir said, adding that this time should be exploited to reach a "permanent solution for the Palestinian-Israeli conflict."
The two ministers also discussed prospects for bilateral cooperation within the Euro-Med partnership in the run up to the meeting of Euro-Med foreign ministers next month in France, the ministry said. (dpa)
