Market Opens Weak and Slides further
Today, the stock market opened at 14,309.37, and continued its declining trend accompanied by weak global signs in the morning trades.
Asian markets also opened up in the negative terrain on Friday (August 17) after the Yen ascended to its yearly peak against the Dollar, therefore having a obtrusive affect on the Japanese exports. Financial stocks ascended on guesses that the U.S. Fed Reserve may slash rate of interest to calm the ongoing crisis.
According to Rahul Agarwal, Vice President, Institutional Sales, LKP Shares stated that the stock market will decline further and touch 14,000 level. Today, the market trend will remain pessimistic. He suggests Reliance Industries, Reliance Communication, Reliance Energy, Tata Power and Bharti Airtel for trading in today’s weak section.
The stock market experienced 830 advancements as against 563 declinations. Amongst the sectoral indices, BSE Auto dropped 0.98%, BSE Metal slumped 2.26%, BSE Realty turned down 0.56%, BSE Bankex rejected 1.27% and BSE IT went down 1.37%.
Today’s gainers list includes Reliance Energy which made a small gain of just 0.91% at Rs 724.05, ACC climbed 0.56% at Rs 985 and Bajaj Auto ascended 0.42% at Rs 2,320.00. The other gainers include SBI, TCS, Bharti Airtel, Hindalco and Grasim.
The losers in the opening time include Tata Steel that declined 1.63% to Rs 566.00, BHEL rejected 1.43% at Rs 1,580.00 and M&M passed up 1.39% at Rs 649.00. HDFC, ICICI Bank, Reliance Industries and Satyam also slipped.
Today, the equity shares of Chennai-based Zylog Systems (ZSL) got listed at 50% premium at Rs 525 as compared to the issue price of Rs 350, on the Bombay stock Exchange.
