Nalco’s Expansion Plans
The National Aluminium Company Limited (Nalco) would increase its Greenfield expansion in Indonesia and Iran. The company would complete its 3rd phase expansion with Rs6000cr through its internal sources. High power cost and increasing shortage of coal forced Nalco to amend capacity. The company would increase production of Alumina and aluminium in such location where power is easily available at low price.
The CMD of the company, Mr CR Pradhan said the company is working on a growth plans worth Rs 40,000 crore for the next five years. It would become global leader in aluminium production after the implementation of the plan. Mr. Pradhan was here in Bhubaneswar to participate in the AGM of the company. He said that the company is also looking for brown field and Greenfield projects within the country.
The company would complete its second phase expansion project worth Rs 5000 crore, this year. It would increase its bauxite mines capacity from 4800000 mt to 6300000 mt under the proposed plan.
The company has done good business in the current fiscal. It registered net profit of Rs 1632 crore and export earnings at Rs 2135 crore.
