Sharif assures Zardari of full cooperation as opposition
Islamabad, Sep 8 The meeting between Pakistan’s new President-elect Asif Ali Zardari and PML-N chief Nawaz Sharif ended at the Prime Minister House in Islamabad on Monday.
Sharif felicitated Zardari for becoming the president of Pakistan and assured him of full cooperation as opposition.
The PML-N said it would play constructive role for promoting democratic norms as opposition.
According to sources, Zardari offered PML-N to rejoin the federal cabinet so that problems faced by the country could jointly be resolved.
Both sides also agreed not to issue statements against each other, The News reported.
Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani, Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif, Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan, Iqbal Zafar Jhagra, Raja Zafarul Haq, Javed Hashmi, Ahsan Iqbal, Interior Adviser Rehman Malik and Federal Information Minister Sherry Rehman also attended the meeting. (ANI)
