Unichem Laboratories gets USFDA nod for Hydrochlorothiazide tablets
Mumbai-based Unichem Laboratories has finally received nod from US Food & Drug Administration (USFDA) for Hydrochlorothiazide tablets in the strengths of 25 mg and 50 mg.
Hydrochlorothiazide, a 'water pill,' is used to treat high blood pressure and fluid retention caused by various conditions, including heart disease. It causes the kidneys to get rid of unneeded water and salt from the body into the urine.
Unichem Laboratories engages in the development, manufacture, and marketing of active pharmaceutical ingredients and pharmaceutical formulations in India and internationally. Recently, it has received another USFDA approval for its formulations plant situated at Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh.
Karvy Stock Broking has maintained its buy rating on Unichem Laboratories with a target price of Rs 225 in its July 22, 2008 research report. According to researchers, the counter looks good on the charts and it is poised to give decent returns.
