Sensex Up 418 Pts; Realty, Banking Lead Rally
The 30-share index, Sensex, continued to trade strong on the back of sustained buying activity in Real Estate, Banking and Power scrips.
It also touched a high of 13,931.01.
Midcap and Smallcap gained 2.41% and 2.70% respectively.
At 12.08 a.m., the BSE Sensex stood at 13,767.96, up 418.31 points while NSE Nifty gained 120.8 points at 4,109.35.
Out of the total 2416 shares traded at the BSE, 1,883 came up, 482 turned down while 51 remained unchanged.
All the sectoral indices were trading positively led by BSE Bankex and Realty, which gained more than 4% each, Power and Consumer Goods surged over 3% each.
Leaders on the index included Reliance Infra, JP Associates, ICICI Bank, BHEL, Tata Motors, HDFC Bank, Reliance Communication, Maruti Suzuki, ITC and DLF.
Hindalco, which lost 0.38% to Rs 144.85 was the only loser at the BSE.
