Italian conductor Luisi publishes autobiography at 49
Dresden, Germany - Italian musical conductor Fabio Luisi is to
launch his autobiogaphy next week at the ripe age of 49, publicists
said Friday in the German city of Dresden, where Luisi is conductor of
the Semper Opera orchestra.
The book, entitled "Only Halfway There," was ghost-written by
Walter Dobner in German and will describe the Genoa-born conductor's
leap to greatness after his first employment in Graz, Austria.
It will also reflect on his work with top stars such as Edita Gruberova, Jose Carreras and Placido Domingo.
Announcing the June 19 book launch in Semper, a publicity note said
the book would also address some of the "annoying background music"
that the maestro has had to put up with. Luisi is also conductor of the
Vienna Symphony Orchestra.
