Germany's DTEC to build 170-million-dollar glass plant in Jordan
Amman - DTEC Engineering & Consulting, a German technology provider and operator of glass factories, on Wednesday signed an agreement with Remal Holding of Qatar to construct a 170-million- dollar glass factory in Jordan.
The plant in Maan, 240 kilometres south of Amman, will be jointly owned by Remal Holding, Euro Gass, the Maan Development Company (MDC) and the Jordanian armed forces.
DTEC is to manage, design and provide technical assistance in the factory's construction and manage operations for the first five years, the MDC said in a statement.
DTEC's chief executive Harold Prang said during the signing ceremony that the project would ultimately create around 2,000 jobs in the Maan governorate that was recently declared a development area by King Abdullah II. (dpa)
