Peter Rawlinson, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Lucid, revealed that his company is building a "true" e-SUV featuring the world’s most advanced automotive technology.

Rawlinson, who previously served Tesla as the chief vehicle engineer for the Model S, now claims that Lucid is leading the world in technology. He also openly criticized his former employer for losing its focus as well as its technological lead in the automobile sector. He stressed that Lucid has become the world’s most advanced automotive technology company, and it is evident in the form of its products, such as the Lucid Air. He called attention to the fact that the Lucid Air is more efficient as well as quicker in terms of acceleration and charging than Tesla's top electric sedan. Explaining the Lucid Air’s remarkable efficiency, the senior executive pointed out that the vehicle achieved 5 miles per kilowatt-hour (kWh), a milestone that no other automaker has achieved thus far.

Developing and producing highly efficient EVs is key part of Lucid’s main targets, with an ambitious target to achieve 6.2 miles (approx. 10 km) per kWh, which Rawlinson referred to as the “holy grail” of the electric car efficiency.

Its capable 900-volt architecture will enable it to gain 200 miles of range in only 15 minutes using a Level 3 charging port.
