EV manufacturer Etrio to supply electric three-wheelers to LetsTransport for last-mile delivery

Indian tech-logistics firm LetsTransport has confirmed that it has signed a commercial partnership deal with electric vehicle (EV) manufacturer Etrio for inducting electric three-wheelers in its fleet. Hyderabad-headquartered Etrio has a vision to develop and produce the widest range of reliable, safe, capable as well as affordable electric form of mobility for the masses.

LetsTransport is a last-mile tech-logistics solution provider for intra-state deliveries. Based in Bangalore, it offers reliable, affordable and professional services, specifically structured to serve commercial entities. It has thousands of light commercial vehicles for urban logistics spanning more than a dozen cities.

Moving with the ongoing trend of electrification of vehicles, LetsTransport has started deploying EVs. Under the newly signed commercial partnership deal, it will get Etrio's Touro-branded electric three-wheelers and deploy the vehicles in its last-mile operations in Delhi NCR, Bangalore, Mumbai, Pune, Hyderabad, and Chennai in a phased manner before the end of 2021. The company expects the new fleet from Etrio to accelerate its commitment to sustainable growth.

Pushkar Singh, co-founder of LetsTransport, said the induction of EVs would help the company trim down its carbon footprint, while continuing to offer reliable service in the last-mile space. The EVs would be deployed for leading e-commerce customers, in addition to food and FMCG (fast moving consumer goods) sectors. He added that his company had been working on EV pilots across the country with a number of clients, including BigBasket and Delhivery, for more than a year now.

Speaking on the topic, Mr. Singh added, “We firmly believe that EV is going to be the future of urban freight movement, especially in the last-mile space. We are working on enabling wider adoption of EVs in the last-mile space, and the Touro by Etrio is a perfect fit for our sustainability goals.”

Above and beyond supplying the EVs, Etrio will provide LetsTransport with service support, operational enablement through its driver training and certification program.

India, the world’s second most populated nation after China, has been suffering a grave air pollution crisis. As the number of fossil fuel-powered vehicles has increased multifold in the last few decades, air pollution also escalated to damaging heights. Thus, the government of the Asian nation is pushing companies and individuals to shift from internal combustion engines to environment-friendly EVs.

Etrio CEO Deepak MV said that his company had a mission to electrify intra-city logistics and the collaboration with LetsTransport marked a big step in the direction of fulfilling that mission.
