Jaguar Land Rover’s all-electric I-Pace SUV finally available in India, priced at Rs105.9 lakh
Jaguar Land Rover Ltd. (JLR), British luxury passenger vehicle manufacturer and subsidiary of Indian automotive giant Tata Motors, has announced the launch of its first battery electric vehicle, the Jaguar I-PACE in the fast-growing Indian automobile market. Priced at Rs105.9 lakh (approximately US$1, 45,718), the Jaguar I-PACE comes equipped with a 90 kWh battery capable enough to deliver 294 kW power and 696 Nm of torque. With that much power, the I-PACE takes just 4.8 seconds to sprint from 0 to 100 km/h. Its top speed has been rated at 200km/h.
Pointing out that the Jaguar I-PACE is JLR’s first all-electric SUV to be launched in India, JLR (India) President & MD Rohit Suri said that the company’s retail network was fully prepared to meet customers’ demands.
Speaking on the luxury electric SUV’s launch, Suri said, “Jaguar I-PACE is the first all-electric SUV that we’ve launched in India and it marks the beginning of our electrification journey. With our electrified products we look forward to playing a significant role in India’s electrification drive into the future.”
He added that the Jaguar I-PACE will appeal to individuals who love to buy the latest in technology and design to express their personalities and stay ahead of the rest of the world.
To ensure that potential buyers don’t experience any kind of hassle after purchasing the luxury electric vehicle, the company has made 22 of its retail outlets across nineteen cities EV ready. While more than 35 EV chargers have already been installed in those cities, many more are underway. The EV chargers includes 7.4 kW AC chargers and 25 kW DC fast chargers.
Owners of the all-electric I-PACE may either use a home charging cable that the company is providing with the vehicle or they can make use of a 7.4 kW AC wall mounted charger, which is also being provided as standard. The installation of the EV charger at the customer’s house will be provided by Tata Power Ltd. in coordination with JLR dealers. It may be noted here that Tata Power is a subsidiary of the Tata Group, and it claims to be India’s largest integrated power company.
The Jaguar I-Pace was first unveiled in March 2018, and it hit European roads in the month of June that year. North American deliveries started in October of the same year. Now, it is available in India as well.
