German industrial production slips in March
Berlin - Germany industrial production fell in March, data released Thursday, adding to signs of slowing growth in Europe's biggest economy.
The Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology said in seasonally adjusted industrial output declined by 0.5 per cent month-on-month in March. The fall was in line with analysts' forecasts. Releasing the data, the ministry also revised the February figure to a 0.2 per cent rise from a previously reported 0.4 per cent increase.
Leading the fall in production in March was a 12.3-per-cent plunge in output in the construction sector.
Year on year, total industrial production grew at 4.7 per cent. (dpa)
