Robot shows self-awareness

According to reports, it has been demonstrated in a simple experiment that robots are self-aware in addition to having greater powers of deduction than what was thought earlier. Three robots were built by scientists at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in New York, and the "three wise men" test was conducted on them.

As per reports, the robots seemed to be playing the role of the three most intelligent men in the kingdom who were called by the king to his court.

Dr. Selmer Bringsjord, who led the study, said, "Floridi's challenge, which we refer to as 'KG4,' requires that a robot have a form of genuine self-understanding . a human-level justification/proof to accompany the behavior, in which the robot employ a correlated to the personal pronoun 'I'".

Reports say that two of the robots were programmed to not speak, whereas the third one was not. After that, all of them were asked to say who the one who spoke was. All the robots tried saying "I don't know". However the one who was able to hear his own voice said "Sorry, I know now" after realizing it was not silenced.

The winning robot passed two main logical problems. First, it was able to understand the question. And then it was able to hear its own voice and ultimately used this information to come up with the right answer. The experiment is important because it demonstrates that robots can be programmed to have a few qualities of humans like deduction and self-awareness.
