Workers begin ‘tool down’ strike at Bosch Bangalore plant
A union representing workers at Bosch, has started a tool down strike against the company management at the company’s plant in Bangalore.
The auto component maker has described the strike by the members of MICO Employee's Association (MEA) as illegal. The company said that the workers have gone on a strike from yesterday without any prior notice to the company. It also said that efforts are on-going to make sure that the issues are resolved at the earliest and normalcy is restores at the plant in the south Indian city.
In a filing with the Bombay Stock Exchange(BSE) that, “Workmen of the company's Bangalore plant have resorted to an illegal 'Tool Down' strike w. e. f. end of first shift of March 7, 2013, without giving any prior notice to the management.”
During the previous three months, the works adopted a 'go-slow' approach at production, which resulted in a slower production than earlier. After discussions, the management decided to suspend one worker attend plant. The workers are opposing the suspension of the workman at the plant by the management.
The company officials are now holding discussions with the union representatives to resolve the matter.
