Airtel launches Wi-Fi hotspot service for pre-paid users
Telecom service provider, Bharti Airtel has announced the launch of a new Wi-Fi hotspot service, called Wi-Fi hangouts for its pre-paid subscribers in the country.
The company will launch the service for its prepaid customers in Mumbai, Delhi-NCR and Bangalore regions initially. The pre-paid customers will be able to access the Wi-Fi service by activating the "Airtel W-Fi Zone" vouchers available on the company website.
"Now you can enjoy a broadband internet experience even outside your home. Whether at your favourite café, restaurant or local hangout, Airtel Wi-Fi guarantees a secure and reliable connectivity on your laptop or handheld device," the company said on its website.
The users will have to pay Rs. 20 for 30 minutes of unlimited usage on the Wi-Fi. The unlimited usage for one hour and two hours will be charged Rs. 30 and Rs. 50, respectively. More information about the service is available on the company's website.
Airtel not offers Wi-Fi hangouts installation on various establishments but is yet to offer its public Wi-Fi service. Such a service has a lot of demand in metro cities as several users are looking for such connections at restaurants, coffee shops and travel areas like Metro stations and airports.
