Google adds 24 new features to Google+ Android and iOS apps, Hangouts, and Google+ Web app
In an announcement which comes just in time for the holidays, Google has revealed that it is adding 24 new features to its Google+ network, and updating the Google+ apps for its own Android mobile operating system as well as the Apple iOS.
Disclosing that it is bringing on new features to its Google+ Android and iOS apps, Google+ Web app, and Google Hangouts, the company said that enhancements to photography management will comprise the core of the update; with users getting the ability to save full-sized backups of photos which they upload to the site via the Google "Instant Upload" feature. Users of the iOS will henceforth be able to swipe through their photo albums and carry out some basic profile editing tasks from their handsets.
Making the Google+ social network `more social,' the new features added by Google will allow users to use Google Events for sending messages to particular guests rather than the complete list; and the dropping of bandwidth requirement for a Hangout will make the tool more accessible for video chats.
Moreover, while Google's updated iOS app will boast the addition of new conversation cards; the updated Android app will unfold animated gif files, birthday reminders via Google Now, and a Google+ widget applicable to the lock screen.
About the addition of the new features, Google's VP of Engineer Dave Besbris said that there is really something for everyone, "whether you're an iPhone or Android addict, a budding broadcaster, or the resident party planner."
