Ford to appoint Joginder Singh as new chief for Indian operations
Automotive major, Ford Motor Company has said on Friday that it has appointed Joginder Singh as the president and managing director, Ford India.
Mr. Singh will take over the charge of the top job from December 1, 2012 after the retirement of Michael Boneham. Mr. Singh will work from the Ford's India corporate office in Delhi and will report to Joe Hinrichs president, Ford Asia Pacific and Africa directly.
The company also said that Boneham has decided to retire from December 31, 2012 after completing a successful term of more than 27 years with Ford Motor Company. Boneham had started his career in Human Resource in Ford Australia and has worked as manufacturing and general management roles in Europe, North America and APA. He moved to India to work as executive director for Ford's facility in Chennai before becoming the president and managing director of Ford India.
Hinrichs said, "Michael's contributions to our business in Asia has been significant, specifically his leadership of the India market." He also said that Boneham has helped in positing the company's Indian operations for successful future operations.
